Our Founder – Dr. Victoria Ndinelago Erasmus

Dr. Victoria Ndinelago Erasmus is the visionary behind NRC. Born on February 20, 1980, in Oshigambo village, northern Namibia, her passion for research and the environment has been a driving force throughout her life. Raised in rural Namibia, where educational resources were scarce, Dr. Erasmus overcame challenges to pursue her dream of becoming a marine biologist. She holds a PhD in Marine Biology and has published 15 peer-reviewed scientific papers.

"I grew up watching cattle, learning about animals, and climbing trees to fetch bird eggs. Despite dropping out of school twice, my passion for research and marine biology never wavered. Today, I oversee fisheries observers at sea, contribute to international research, and write children’s books to inspire young Namibians to care for the environment."
