Food Waste Challenge

Project Overview:
As part of the Capricorn Foundation’s Food Waste Challenge, NRC developed innovative business ideas to address food waste in Namibia. This project focused on identifying ways to minimize food waste at various stages of the supply chain and exploring sustainable business models that can be implemented to reduce food loss and support food security.

Key Objectives:

  • Develop business ideas to reduce food waste in Namibia.
  • Explore solutions for minimizing waste at production, distribution, and consumption stages.
  • Promote sustainable practices that support food security and environmental sustainability.

Project Impact:
NRC’s contributions to the Food Waste Challenge earned recognition as a Top 5 Finalist. Our ideas focused on creating circular economy solutions for food waste, turning waste into valuable resources. This project supports Namibia’s efforts to combat food insecurity while reducing the environmental impact of food waste.
